Myself

Hi Friends,
I appreciate your interest to know about me.... :) Keep reading.. keep reading my posts. Do leave your comments. thank you.
I am Chandrakala, Kala for short. Mother of 2 boys, living in Singapore.
Believe in learning from people, young or old.
Likes to read magazines, novels, in both English and Tamil.
Love to interact with kids and this has tied me into the service with SINDA for more than a decade.
Always prefer the company of others and so even if I'm home alone, the radio is on.
My elder son is the inspiration behind this blog and the person who created this blog for me. My family members appreciate and value home-cooked food and they are the drive behind my cooking.

The purpose of this blog is to share traditional family recipes that have been served to me and also the simple tasty meals that I serve to my family. My wish to leave a note of the recipes for the next generation. Hope it serves as a reference not only for my sons, nephews, and nieces but all the young people.
Cooking is simple and easy and not a task as many young people think and I wish home-cooked food is valued and appreciated by all.

The blog will mostly comprise of simple, nutritious, and tasty meals that can be easily prepared at home. A simple quick fix. Being a vegetarian, I will be posting vegetarian dishes.
I shall post commonly cooked meals, a few forgotten recipes and the occasional small tips that will bring out a big difference in taste to your cooking.
If you're looking for gourmet food, there are many experienced culinary experts out there who can probably do a better job than me. This is more for young people who are new to the cooking scene and those looking to try traditional Indian recipes.
I am not a health freak, but believe that it is always good to be conscious of using natural ingredients as much as possible and avoid processed or tinned food.

Please do leave comments and provide feedback/suggestions to improve my posts. Do post any requests for recipes too.

PLANNING is the best step to solve your menu selection and ease your cooking time.
